Intermediate Training at IAOM Convention 2025 The International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) 2025 Convention is excited to present, Dr. Sandra Kahn, DDS MSD, an accomplished orthodontist and pioneer in airway-centered orthodontics. 

With over 20 years of experience and 7,000 clinical cases, Dr. Kahn is the only Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics practicing Forwardontics therapy. She serves as an adjunct clinical professor at Stanford University and co-authored the influential book “Jaws: The Story of a Hidden Epidemic.” As the founder of Forwardontics, Dr. Kahn has dedicated her career to promoting protocols that support forward development of the facial middle and lower thirds. 

This focused 1 hour session will guide participants through comprehensive training in three key segments: Orofacial Myology (20 minutes), Up-lock Breathing Technique Demonstration (20 minutes), and Clinical Integration (10 minutes), concluding with an interactive Q&A period (10 minutes). 

As participants begin their trajectory as Airway Ambassadors, they will learn how to become Up-lock Trainers (ULT) within their practices. The session encompasses essential knowledge for making Up-lock breathing information available to patients while developing effective teaching and promotion strategies for these techniques. 

Practitioners will gain insight into Up-lock breathing applications, treatment indications, and patient selection criteria, ensuring optimal benefit scope for their practice. The training emphasizes practical integration of Up-lock breathing exercises with myofunctional therapy, focusing on oral posture and airway health improvements. Participants will learn to measure and track patient progress in both orofacial muscle function and nasal breathing efficiency.
