Navigating Health Together

Where Trust and Education Unite

We believe that trust is the cornerstone of any meaningful relationship, and when coupled with education, it forms a powerful alliance.

  • Through continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field of orofacial myology, IAOM members are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to address a diverse range of Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs).

  • IAOM members who are Certified Orofacial Myologists (COM®) are members who have undergone rigorous training and have attained the highest qualifications in the field of orofacial myology.

  • The IAOM is the only Certifying Body in the Field of orofacial myology.

Why choose the IAOM

Our professional network is an exclusive community of dedicated individuals who have not only met our stringent standards but also consistently uphold the core values of our organization.

Membership Eligibility

IAOM active membership is available to healthcare professionals who have a background as: Dentist (DDS/DMD), Physician (MD/DO), Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT). Individuals from unrelated professions can apply for special consideration.

Becoming Certified

The COM® holds merit as allied health professionals and parents recognize the rigorous work, education, time, and dedication that goes into earning and becoming a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM®).

The COM® has been referred to as the “gold standard.” This is due to our third party process of testing and examination process, which is much like our education vs our licensure.

The IAOM believes so deeply in the certification process, we have a registered trademark on the COM® credential, thanks to past Presiden Kristie Gatto.

The COM® is considered the highest level of achievement in the field of myofunctional therapy.

We are proud of all of our members and COM’s and invite you to join our esteemed organization!
